LU by David Paredes & Emerson Caicedo

LU leaves home to march convinced that it will be a peaceful protest in which music and chants are the loudest cry when it comes to demanding their rights. What she didn't know was that the police would attack the demonstrators and make her return home an impossible task.
The strikes on 28 May 2021 in Colombia represent a change in the structure of political and civic thinking in the country. Taking to the streets has been the only way to make the accumulated non-conformity felt in all areas of Colombian society. This radical movement that demands change has come about thanks to the youth that took to the streets, but government repression refuses to give in and is turning peaceful mobilisation into an act of suicide for the youth who are demanding their rights.
When we leave home to march we are confronted with the macabre reality of perhaps never coming back because the state: it is killing us. This reality is much harsher when the person who goes out is black, indigenous or peasant. For them, returning home alive is a much greater challenge. This is what this story is about, to recreate aurally the terrifying odyssey that LU has to go through if they want to return home alive after a peaceful march that was pushed back by the public forces.

A solo performance derived from a song. A politically-charged tale of a drunken one-night stand, infused with stories of growing up in the turmoil of 1980s Israel.
A nuanced exploration of the politics of division, from internal checkpoints and separation walls to gender norms.
With the escalation in violence after Trump declared Jerusalem to be the Jewish capital; questions of antisemitism in the Labour Party; rising levels of awareness of the Palestinian cause and the negative feelings towards Israel that often accompany it — this performance feels very timely.

A Walk in the Park by Fast Familiar

ongoing
So here we are. Just two people on a walk together. Me in the park and you - wherever you are. What can you see? What route do you choose? What traces do you leave? What do you imagine when you look at other people? And what do they see when they look at you? (Other than your radiant beauty and magnetic natural charm, of course.)
Part story, part immersive audio experience and part walk, A Walk in the Park is a 30 minute illumination of the games we play in public spaces, and the different rules that apply, depending on who you are.
Please listen, wearing headphones, while taking a walk in a space -like a park- where you might go to relax. Do the walk during the day, when the space is busy.

WE’RE IN HERE is a 3 part video-theatre piece from John Doran.
Originally supported by Corcadorca as part of their event ‘SHOW’ in 2019, John adapted his play script into a deeply intimate video piece in April 2020.
The piece explores notions of Role Models, Talk Therapy & Shame.
Over a year since making the series, John is revisiting what he originally produced by adding a Part Four to the series, which will be included alongside the previous 3.

Run Club is a remote audio performance for one person at a time. An invitation to walk or travel as the performer is running, elsewhere – or even run along if you like. Listen to the body in motion. It is sweating, breathing heavily, exerting itself. Let the runner be your guide. Go on a journey inside an unfamiliar body and through an unfamiliar place. You and the runner, terrains mapping over each other.
Things will come back to normal soon. Just a lot of things on my plate atm
Have a great week!
