£3.50
Wednesday 26th January
Reality Surfing is non-narrative visual performance, which proposes to the audience to experience an alternative model of coexistence of people and inanimate entities. It discovers new relations between daily objects through their materiality and presence in one space, which gain an equivalent value as presence of a human body. Scenography of the piece comprises a system which exists and functions according to its own rights. It serves and requires a service; it absorbs and triggers; it’s geometry is meaningless as well as a feeling of destruction. The authors invite a spectator/ visitor to forget about rational logic and surf into a new reality composed in collaboration with sponges, oranges, machines, ghosts and other unexpected species.
Each of us assemble our own small worlds with the available things and knowledge, using random fragments of reality as stones for building the wall against the wind. When the wall falls, we find ourselves in a vapour landscape which unites collapsed pieces into the new creature. Where we can surf from the cardboard box to the dolphin’s fin by accepting the terms and conditions. Where are moments of entropy and freedom, no matter if we are locked up, locked down or just among ourselves and our surroundings.
Alles unter Kontrolle by Oliver Frljić
£5
Friday 28th January
For his new project, Oliver Frljić shifts the entire Gorki into a state of emergency. The theatre – as body, as city – through which the spectators make their way. The point of departure and reference is a thought by Walter Benjamin: »The tradition of the oppressed teaches us that the ›state of emergency‹ in which we live is not the exception but the rule. We must arrive at a conception of history that is in keeping with this insight.« The question of fiction and reality, of normality and exception is raised again and again. Six scenes form a kaleidoscope-like overall picture. Who actually represents whom? Who speaks for whom and about what? Legitimised by whom?

The year 2020 was a never-ending river of bad news, when Charlie, a marketing assistant from New York, decides to quarantine in rural America at his Grandma Margie’s house, he’s greeted by Dee, a local townie who has been acting as a caretaker for his Grandma. The culture clash of worlds and words brings to light the best and worst of what 2020 has had to offer. STRANGE, BUT PERFECT is a hilarious, sweet and somber play that is a comforting salve for a crap year.
FEMINA ( work in progress) by LDM5
free
On Demand
“Femina” is a contemporary dance performance created by choreographer Sabine Neilande about the search for the superwoman’s gene, about the dual and contradictory image of a woman in society, which has significantly affected the way a modern woman perceives herself.
One of the main themes of the performance is the women’s role in art. An important source of inspiration for the research process was the artist group Guerrilla Girls poster “Do Women Have To Be Naked To Get Into the Met Museum? ” (1989). It depicts a figure of a naked woman and a text stating that less than 5% of the artists exhibited in the modern art section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art are women, while 85% of the exhibits are women’s naked bodies. The creative team of the performance is interested in how this image of a woman, which we have accustomed ourselves to look at since childhood, has affected a 21st century woman in her daily life, and how it has shaped her relationship with herself.
