The Disappearing of Vincent Gambini by Augusto Corrieri and Hugo Glendinning
From Wednesday 14th April
Pay What You Can
What happens when the line between reality and fiction vanishes into thin air?
In Spring 2020, Vincent Gambini began touring his show about a magician in crisis over the state of the world. “What is the point of magic…”, asked the exasperated Gambini, dropping his props and collapsing on the stage floor, “…when everything is falling apart? This is the last show I do. I quit!”
Gambini couldn’t have predicted that his tour would actually be cancelled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Featuring the empty streets of Brighton in lockdown, as well as private rehearsal footage and phone conversations, this new film reflects on the laborious preparation behind sleight-of-hand magic, and the search for human contact at a time of isolation.
WANASET YODIT by Laila Soliman
From Thursday 15th April
From €10
WANASET YODIT, which means Coffee Chat with Yodit, is an invitation to the audience to drink coffee with the two protagonists, Abir Omer and Yodit Akbalat, and talk about their lives. The two women from Soltau fled from Sudan to northern Germany several years ago. In 2019, together with four other women from the group "My Body Belongs to Me", they brought a documentary project of the same name about genital mutilation and being a woman* to the stage, with dance and song. In the process, they met Egyptian director Laila Soliman and developed the idea for WANASET YODIT. Soliman was so impressed by Yodit's personal story, her way of thinking, her humor and last but not least her ability to read the future from shells, that she wanted to give the audience the opportunity to get to know this special person, in a very private setting.
What was planned as a coffee ceremony with an audience now takes place in your home: The two friends Yodit and Abir share their everyday stories, their laughter and their tears with you on the phone. Over coffee, of course, but you will have to prepare it yourself. Everything you need is sent to you in advance in a small package.

Two gay men pose for a camera as their simultaneous enthusiasm and bewilderment for what they are doing gives way to a growing physical dialogue. Like a pair of Adonnis’, they flow from one statuesque image to another; they sigh and pout and seductively perform for their online viewers; they lay around, bored on their phones, waiting for something to happen. But who is it all really for?
All Your Houses by Barrell Organ

“For survivors things go back to a reconfigured version of normal. For better or for worse people forget perhaps more quickly than they should, and the episode becomes a subject only for historians.”
History happens, crisis happens, we cope, time moves on. But how do we cope? Fourteen people look out of their bedroom windows. Something is coming, so they look to each other for help, only to find that they’re alone.
From 14th April

"When the state has put an imposter in the most intimate aspects of your life, there really is no solid ground left on which to stand."
A group of British women discover their partners are undercover police officers living under false identities. Each of their stories – spanning several decades of deception, manipulation and surveillance – are remarkably similar, and now they are looking for answers.
Inspired by real events, and using a blend of real witness testimony and imagined characters, this new piece of theatre has been created by Breach together with Guildhall School final-year Acting students.
I got vaccinated yesterday so my brain is absoloutly pooped. I’ve very much scambled this together but still hope you enjoy!
See you next week
